Product description
The history of the brand began in 1777, when Florens-Louis Heidsieck met Agathe Perthois, for whom he decided to create "a wine that smiles". In 1785, he founded the Heidsieck & Cie company, heading towards development with one dream - he wanted to dazzle Marie Antoinette with his cheerful champagne. He succeeded and Marie Antoinette became the first ambassador of the brand. In 1815, Florens-Louis was joined by his nephew, Christian and Henri-Guillaume Piper. The three quickly found a thread of mutual understanding and even after Florens-Louis' death in 1828, the aforementioned duo continued production. By 1835, as many as 14 royal and imperial courts chose this champagne first for their cellars. For the centenary of the company, Pierre-Karl Faberge, jeweler to Tsar Alexander III, designed a special bottle, set with jewels and decorated with gold and lapis lazuli.
The marriage of the Piper-Heidsieck champagne house and various jewelers and designers continues to this day. It is worth mentioning cooperation with such names as Van Cleef & Arpels, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Viktor & Rolf. In 2011, the entire company became part of the EPI group, a family holding company, headed by Christoper Descours, who looks after its development, not forgetting the values of craftsmanship, quality and the form of communication of luxury savoir-fare.
