Product description
Ornabrak Single Malt Gin debuted in the spring of 2018 in the offer of Origin Spirits Ireland Ltd. The company was founded in 2013 and two years later attracted the attention of consumers with the product Kalak Single Malt Vodka.
In 2020, Currach Single Malt Whiskey joined the range. The name of the gin comes from the Gaelic "Eorna Braiche" which translates to "malted barley" (its base is barley spirit distilled four times in a copper still). The formula contains only five botanical ingredients - Macedonian juniper berry, Polish and Belgian angelica root, Moroccan and Paraguayan lemon verbena, Spanish and Argentinian lemon peel and needles from local pine trees. After maceration, they are subjected to a final (fifth) distillation. According to the producer, Ornabrak Single Malt Gin should be served plain, just like single malt whiskey. (Producer's taste note.)
Aroma : rich, almost creamy, juniper berries, pine needles, barley malt and subtle citrus and spicy tones.
Taste : mild, yet complex, juniper berries, vanilla, red pepper and distinct citrus notes.
Finish : long and expressive.
