GlenAllachie Distillery sits in Speyside and equipped with two pairs of stills can produce about 4 million liters of spirit per annum.
This mid-size Speyside distillery was built in 1967 and closed 20 years later. Campbell Distillers took over operations in 1989 and Glenallachie became a main supplier of malt whisky for Clan Campbell blend. In 2017 the distillery was acquired by a private consortium led by Billy Walker, who masterfully developed BenRiach and GlenDronach brands. GlenAllachie presented here was distilled on November 12, 2008 and matured in ex-Moscatel barrique # 414 for over 13 years. Bottled at natural strength of 56.6% abv and without chill-filtration in August 2022 as part of Batch # 5 Single Cask European Selection. The cask produced 309 bottles. (Official tasting note.)
Color: bronze gold.
Nose: waves of heather honey, mocha and apricots, with cinnamon, spiced orchard fruits and peach.
Taste: bursting with coffee, dark chocolate and apple peal, followed by sweet orange zest and cinnamon shortbread.
