Product description
Whitley Neill Gin, a creation of Johnny Neill, debuted in 2005 in the Halewood Wine & Spirits portfolio.
Neill is an eighth-generation member of the famous Greenall Whiteley distilling family and claims that his English-made gin is inspired by Africa. He owes this inspiration to his wife, who was born in Africa, who encouraged him to experiment with botanicals from the Black Continent. The gin formula includes baobab fruit and edible physalis, while the traditional side of the recipe is represented by juniper berries, coriander, orris and angelica roots, cassia bark, lemon and orange peel. It is distilled at Langley Distillery in a copper still that is over a hundred years old. In recent years, Whitley Neill has expanded the range of flavors of his gin, and there are over a dozen of them in the current one. Their recipes are subject to minor modifications (they do not contain African ingredients). The Pineapple Gin presented here debuted in 2022 and immediately won a gold medal at the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco. Its formula was inspired by Johnny Neil's journey through Central America and juicy Costa Rican pineapples. In addition to the aforementioned pineapples, it also contains juniper berries, coriander seeds, orris root, angelica root and cassia bark.
Whiteley Neill Pineapple Gin tempts with the aroma of citrus, of which pineapple stands out. In taste, citrus sweetness balanced by juniper and a pinch of pepper. We recommend serving it with a neutral premium tonic or Fever Tree Elderberry Tonic.
