Mortlach 7 years old (D.2014, B.2021) Very Cloudy Signatory Vintage / 40% / 0.7l

“Very Cloudy” is an annex to “The Un-chillfiltered Collection” series by Signatory Vintage intended for the French market.

It consists of young single malts bottled at 40% ABV, unfiltered and with a natural colour, and no more than five barrels are used for each edition. After adding a few drops of water, these whiskies can take on a slightly cloudy appearance, which explains the name "Very Cloudy". The Mortlach presented here, distilled on 14 April 2014, spent over seven years in two hogshead barrels (nos. 300676 and 300685), and was bottled on 16 June 2021 at 40% ABV for the Parisian La Maison du Whisky.

Aroma: fresh, spring meadow, apples, pears, lychee, vanilla, brown sugar, licorice, a bit of pepper and oak chips.

Palate : barley malt, vanilla, toffee, caramel, peanut butter, baked apples, chamomile tea, lemongrass and a pinch of pepper.

Finish : medium long, with notes of barley malt, vanilla, caramel, apples, a bit of hay and oak.
