Product description
Cù Bòcan is a slightly smoky and peaty version of the single malt Tomatin, distilled only in winter.
It debuted in 2013 and was immediately included in the core range. Its name refers to the legendary hellhound that has plagued the inhabitants of the village of Tomatin for centuries. In 2019, the company began issuing a limited series of Cù Bòcan Creations offering extraordinary finishes of this single malt (the first two editions used, among others, barrels from stout, Moscatel and shochu). January 2022 brought two more "Creations", in the presented here Creation # 3, distillates aged in barrels from Moroccan Cabernet Sauvignon and American rye whiskey. The edition consisted of 4,200 bottles.
Nose : strawberries, figs, blood oranges, rose water, toffee, anise, cumin, a drop of balsamic vinaigrette, cedar shavings and a trace of smoke in the background.
Taste : slightly smoky, oranges, mangoes, pineapples, nectarines, salted caramel, rye bread toast, fennel, a pinch of ginger and white pepper.
Finish : medium long, with notes of brown sugar, toffee, citrus, herbs, ginger, traces of charred oak and peat smoke.
