Product description

Speyside Distillery began operations in 1990 after almost 25 years of construction.

This small distillery, capable of producing 600,000 litres of distillate per year, has been owned by private company Harvey's of Edinburgh since 2013. The main market for the local single malt is Asia, and it is not generally available from private publishers. In addition to Speyside whisky (recently released as Spey single malt), the company's portfolio includes Drumguish, Beinn Dhub and Glentromie. The whisky presented here, distilled in February 1999, spent 21 years in a refilled hogshead cask (DL 13901). Bottled in March 2020 by Douglas Laing & Co. in the popular Old Particular series in an edition of 244 bottles.

Aroma : Christmas fruitcake, plums, red grapes, honeydew melon, walnuts, vanilla, toffee, ginger, notes of cardamom and cedar.

Palate: almond croissants, cappuccino, vanilla, milk chocolate, a trace of melted butter, multi-berry jam, orange peel, a touch of cinnamon and oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of vanilla, citrus, ginger, a touch of cinnamon and black pepper and toasted oak.
