Product description
A family with over 60 years of tradition in winemaking. They started their own business in 2000, when they started growing vines again in Cap de Creus, a place where their ancestors had already grown them. The first wines under the current label were released in 2007. Alongside winemaking, the family also got involved in gastronomy, opening the Can Rafa restaurant in Cadaqués.
Currently, the vineyards cover 14 hectares, where the varieties of Garnatxa Negra, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Picapoll and Moscat d'Alexandria ripen. The total gives an annual production of 50,000 bottles. Additionally, in 2010, Martin Faixos expanded his activities to include enotourism, thanks to which visitors can comprehensively learn the secrets of viticulture, wine production, and also enjoy exquisite flavors in a local restaurant.
Martín Faixó Cadac 2010 /15% / 0.75l
Wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache Noir varieties. After the vinification process, it matures for 12 months in French oak barrels. On the nose, it is very aromatic and well-structured, full of notes of dark fruit, ripe cherries and blackberries, with an accent of spices. On the palate, it is dense and velvety, perfectly combining fruit flavors with notes of oak and juicy tannin. The finish is long and expressive, with accents of pepper and noticeable minerality.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 16-18 degrees. Decanting is recommended before serving to ensure the wine has the optimal level of aeration. In culinary combinations, it works well with grilled red meats, game, dishes in heavier sauces, or aromatic cheeses.
