Product description
Machrie Moor is a smoky and peaty version of Arran, distilled from malt with a phenol concentration of 20 ppm.
Its name refers to the legend of Fingal, a giant warrior who chained his favorite dog to a stone to guard the entrance to the unexplored Machrie Moor on the west coast of the Isle of Arran. Machrie Moor debuted in 2010 and was immediately included in the core range. In 2019, Isle of Arran Distillers opened a second distillery on the island, the Lagg Distillery, where production of a smoky and peaty spirit was also moved. The original Arran Distillery now operates as Lochranza Distillery. The Machrie Moor presented here was released in late 2021, blended from spirits aged in first-fill American oak barrels.
