Product description
Over its 125-year history, Tomatin Distillery has experienced both ups and downs.
The huge expansion from the 1950s to the 1970s made it Scotland’s largest malt distillery, but it also led to bankruptcy in 1985. The Japanese companies that took over the distillery, Takara Shuzo and Okura & Co., reduced its distilling capacity by more than half and focused on producing malt spirits for blenders. It wasn’t until the beginning of the new century that Tomatin focused on single malt editions, adding new versions almost every year. The edition presented here, from early 2022, is the latest offer for Travel Retail customers. It is made using American oak barrels and Portuguese Moscatel barrique barrels.
Aroma : vanilla cream, toffee, orange jam, dried apricots, dates and figs, sultanas, milk chocolate, honey nuts, notes of ginger and toasted oak.
Taste: fruity-sweet, oranges, tangerines, pineapples, nectarines, raisins and sultanas, vanilla, honey, milk chocolate and candied ginger.
Finish : medium long, with notes of tropical fruits, vanilla, honey, mocha, a touch of cinnamon and ginger.
