Product description
Spicebox Spiced Canadian Whisky is inspired by the American Prohibition era and the organized groups of "exporters" who came to the aid of thirsty Americans.
Their creativity knew no bounds, often crossing the line into containers marked “Spices.” Spices were added to whiskeys to disguise the actual contents of the barrel. The modern Spicebox is a blend of Canadian whiskeys (including rye whiskey) aged for three to six years in American oak barrels, then seasoned with three types of vanilla and a few other spices. Spicebox is bottled at 37% abv, which puts it more in the category of a whiskey-based liqueur. We suggest serving it over ice or as a base for cocktails.
Aroma : sweet and spicy, lots of vanilla, caramel, honey, milk fudge, cinnamon, cloves and a bit of nutmeg.
Palate: cinnamon buns topped with icing, vanilla pudding, maple syrup, cornflakes, ginger, nutmeg and a hint of stewed plums.
Finish : medium long, the above-mentioned spices "sweetened" with caramel.
