Product description
Hampden Estate is one of the oldest sugar cane plantations in Jamaica.
Founded in 1753 by Scotsman Archibald Sterling, it is still famous for its excellent quality, full-flavoured rums distilled in copper stills. Hampden rums are famous for their high level of esters, produced during fermentation using wild yeast, which results in a bouquet of the drink rich in fruit aromas.
Hampden Great House Rum is a blend of rums distilled in traditional copper stills, matured for a minimum of 7 years in American oak bourbon barrels. Distillates with distinctly different ester content were combined here, in order to achieve the best possible balance of aromas and flavors. This rum was initially available only at the distillery and exhibited at various festivals and fairs.
