Product description
Dictador 2 Masters is a series of extremely rare, limited edition Colombian rums.
Each of them was first carefully selected by Dictador's master blender, Hernan Parra, and then traveled to the places where other spirits were made, where they were further "processed" by local masters. This involved selecting the right barrels for further maturation of the rum and giving it an additional aromatic and flavor dimension by combining the highest quality Colombian rum with the characteristics of spirits such as whisky, cognac, Armagnac or exquisite French wines. Each bottle of these limited editions is provided with a special quality certificate - next to the fingerprint of Hernan Parra from Dictador, the label includes the fingerprint of each of the masters responsible for the final stage of preparation of a given spirit.
Rum Dictador 2 Masters Château d'Arche 1978 is a 39-year-old spirit that was first matured in American bourbon barrels. In 2018, it traveled to France, to Château d'Arche in Sauternes, Bordeaux. There, it was placed in 225-liter barrels made of American oak, previously used to mature Château d'Arche wine from the 2014 vintage. This final maturation stage lasted 12 months. Limited edition to 408 individually numbered bottles.
Nose : Abundance of sweet notes, including crème brulée and dark caramel-covered chocolate, lots of dried fruit, including figs, dates and quince, hints of toasted bread and orange peel.
Palate: An incredibly interesting combination of marzipan, dried apricots, cloudberry jam, maple syrup and crème brulée. Once the initial burning sensation on the palate has subsided, the true character of the rum comes through, breaking through the "foreign" flavor accents and leading to a pleasant finish, in which you can feel the balance between juicy fruit cake and toasted notes.
