Product description
The Plantation rum collection is the result of the passion of a connoisseur, expert and enthusiast, Alexandre Gabriel.
The history of his connections with the alcohol markets began relatively recently, in 1989, when Gabriel discovered one of the oldest alcohol brands in France, Maison Ferrand located in the Cognac region. Ten years later, having restored Maison Ferrand's due reputation and brand recognition, Alexandre Gabriel discovered the world of Caribbean rum and threw himself into the search for business partners in Barbados, Guyana, and Jamaica. The Plantation collection was created. Gabriel is currently the owner of the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, the Clarendon Distillery, and the Long Pond Distillery, and a shareholder in National Rum of Jamaica. Plantation is the world of rums, created at the interface of cognac and the Caribbean - cognac barrels are used by rum producers to mature Caribbean spirits, rums are matured in the tropics, and additionally matured for a shorter period already in the climate of the Cognac region in France, in specially selected barrels of local cognac.
Rum Plantation 2007 Panama Syrah (Cote-Rotie) Cask is a rum from the Alcoholes Del Istmo distillery in Panama, made from molasses and distilled in a column still. It spent its first 11 years maturing in the tropics in traditional oak bourbon barrels. It was then transported to France, where it was placed in Ferrand cognac barrels for two years, before being placed in a Syrah (Côte-Rotie) wine barrel for an additional 10 months. Bottled in 2021.
