Product description
Mortlach began operation in 1823 and was the first distillery in Dufftown, a town that locals compare to Rome – Rome was built on seven hills.
Dufftown stands on seven stills – or “Rome stands on seven hills, and Dufftown stands on seven distilleries”. Currently owned by Diageo, Mortlach, equipped with six stills, can produce around 3.8 million litres of distillate per year, most of which is “consumed” by Johnnie Walker Black Label. For years, Mortlach single malt has held a prominent place in Gordon & MacPhail’s Distillery Labels series. The 25-year-old presented here was blended from distillates aged in first-fill and refill sherry casks and bottled at 46% abv.
