Product description
Distillerie Miclo, based in the Welche region in central Alsace, was built in 1962 by Gilbert Miclo, a wholesaler of local spirits who was disappointed with their poor quality.
Miclo focused on the production of fruit brandies and liqueurs, and only his son Michel, who took over the family business in 1995, focused on whisky. Its first distillation took place in 2012 and four years later it debuted in three versions of Welche's whisky. The distillery distills from both "unpeated" and slightly "peated" malt (with a phenol concentration of 10 ppm), and uses French wine barrels for maturation. The standard version presented here was distilled from malted barley without peat and aged for about four years. Welche's whiskies are always bottled with a natural color.
