Product description
Distillerie Miclo, based in the Welche region in central Alsace, was built in 1962 by Gilbert Miclo, a wholesaler of local spirits who was disappointed with their poor quality.
Miclo focused on the production of fruit brandies and liqueurs, and only his son Michel, who took over the family business in 1995, focused on whisky. Its first distillation took place in 2012 and four years later it debuted in three versions of Welche's whisky. Welche's Fine Tourbé is distilled from malt with a concentration of phenol compounds of 10 ppm and aged for at least three years in Burgundy wine barrels ("Tourbé" means "peated" in French). The entire Welche's whisky line is bottled without added coloring agents.
