Product description
The Champagne House, owned by a family whose documented beginnings date back to the 12th century. The Mumm family began its business in the production and sale of wine in 1761, initially in the German Cologne, where they owned extensive vineyards. Then the three sons of the founder of the house, Peter Arnold Mumm, saw the potential in sparkling wines produced in Champagne, and from there it was a short way to acquire an estate in Reims and create a branch of the company there. From the beginning of the founder's activity, one thing was most interesting to him - the highest quality. A sign of this, as well as the innovation introduced at that time, is the grape press, installed directly on the estate in Verzenay in 1840 and still in operation today. To this day, Maison Mumm remains the official supplier of champagne to the British court, which is visible on the necks of its bottles.
The producer has also long directed its products to leading restaurants in the world. In keeping with the highest quality, it has collaborated with distinguished tastemakers, creating personalized labels for their establishments. Since 2009, Mumm has organized “Menus de Légende” – an annual gastronomic event combining champagne and haute cuisine.
Mumm Ice Extra Demi-Sec Champagne is a Champagne created in a very fresh characteristic, full of exotic aromas resulting from adding wines from cellar reserves, aged in American oak barrels, to the blend. In the nose, it is initially full of wood aromas, evolving towards vanilla, with emerging notes of ripe pineapple and mango. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, intense notes of honey and caramel complement each other with the flavors of praline, vanilla and a bit of cedar. Very lively and pleasant effervescence. The finish is long and full, allowing you to enjoy the balance of flavors and aromas.
It is designed to be served on ice, with pieces of fresh fruit, making it perfect as an aperitif, and will also work well as an ingredient in cocktails. In culinary combinations, it will work well as a companion to light, simple dishes, ideal for warm summer days.
