Product description
Maison Otard was founded in 1795 by Jean-Baptiste Otard, a descendant of the family descending from the 9th century Norwegian warrior, Ottar.
Maison Otard is headquartered in Château de Cognac (also known as Château de Valois), which was purchased at auction and whose cellars are still used to mature eaux-de-vie. The cellars are located slightly below the Charente River, and their three-meter-thick walls ensure a constant temperature of 15ºC and high humidity of up to 90%. Baron Otard XO Gold is Maison Otard's most awarded cognac. It is a blend of eaux-de-vie with Grande Champagne (50%), Borderies and Fins Bois aged in Limousin oak barrels in the deep cellars of Château de Cognac. Baron Otard XO Gold should be served neat at a temperature of 17-20ºC.
