Product description
The history of Glen Flagler Distillery is one of the shortest in the post-war history of Scotch whisky.
The plant was built in 1965 by Inver House Distillers (then owned by Publicker Industries) on the Moffat distillery complex, right next to Garnheath Grain Distillery. Its name refers to Flagler Avenue in West Palm Beach, where Simon Neuman, owner of Publicker, resided. Almost all of Glen Flagler's production ended in blends from the Inver House portfolio, with small amounts of single malt reaching the market in 5, 8 and 12 year old versions. As a result of the industry crisis of the late 1970s/early 1980s, Glen Flagler ceased operations in 1985, and a year later Garnheath experienced a similar fate. The 8 year old edition presented here comes from the 1980s.
