Product description
Naga is a mythical creature from Asian culture. It is a type of snake, a symbol of abundance and fertility, a guardian of the treasures of nature. In Hindu legends, Naga inhabit the underworld, where they carefully guard the treasures of the earth.
Naga rums embody the Asian tradition of sugar cane cultivation and rum making. Produced on the island of Java, they are a cross between traditional Caribbean rums and the local specialty known as Batavian Arrack. Arrack is a distillate based on red rice, coconuts or fruit. In the case of Naga rum, we are dealing with a distillate from sugar cane molasses, but the fermentation process uses yeast from red rice. Naga rums are a blend of distillates from stills and rectification columns. The Siam Edition is distilled five times in rectification columns. Then it is put into 200-liter American oak barrels, previously used for maturing bourbon. They mature for ten years in cellars, below ground level, to maintain the most constant temperature of the process. During maturation, losses caused by evaporation are replenished with rum of the same age from other barrels.
