Product description
Bladnoch, established 1817, is the most southerly of Scotland’s distillers.
During its almost 200 years long history it changed owners numerous times, last time in 2015, when the Australian businessman David Prior purchased it from Raymond Armstrong and his brother. In the spring of 2014, the Armstrongs went into “unsolvable” disagreement, resulting in the court ordered distillery liquidation. Prior took a complete refurbishment of the distillery replacing every piece of equipment except of the mill and resumed production in the summer of 2017. Now Bladnoch produces 1.2 million liters of spirit per annum running at roughly 80% of its capacity. Bladnoch Vinaya, a vatting of first fill bourbon and first fill sherry casks, was launched in the early 2021. The name ‘Vinaya’ comes from Sanskrit and means respect and gratitude.
