Product description
In late October 2019, renowned whisky publisher Hunter Laing & Co. announced the release of the “Old & Rare Heritage Collection” series.
It consists of over twenty single cask editions, containing whiskey aged for no less than 30 years. Traditionally, Old & Rare offers whiskey bottled at cask strength, without chill filtration and without added coloring agents. The presentation of the Heritage Collection refers to the original appearance of the Old & Rare Platinum Selection, which debuted at the turn of the century - a dark green bottle, a modest label and an elegant wooden box.
Dufftown 44 years old is undoubtedly both an old and a rare distillation. Distilled in 1975, just a year after the stills were increased to six, it spent nearly four and a half decades in the cask, the contents of which have translated into 239 bottles of 41.8% abv whisky.
(Manufacturer's note.)
"This golden-coloured whisky reveals soft aromas of ripe fruit from the village orchard, honeycomb and a touch of caramel. On the palate, a wave of fruity sweetness enriched with a hint of citrus, marzipan and a pleasant waxiness. The finish is long and slightly dry, ending with a subtle bitterness of oak."
