Product description
Reservoir Distillery, located in Richmond, Virginia, was founded in 2009 by two friends, Jay Carpenter and David Cuttino. The distillery produces 3 unique single-grain whiskeys.
For example, bourbon is distilled from 100% corn, rye whiskey from 100% rye, and wheat whiskey from 100% wheat; all grains come from local farmers. Distillates are aged for at least two years, usually in small barrels, capacity from 2 to 10 gallons, a small amount matures in standard 53-gallon barrels. Experiments conducted by the owners have proven that two years spent in a small barrel is the equivalent of 15 years spent in a traditional bourbon barrel. In 2016, Reservoir Wheat whiskey won a silver medal at the New York Wine & Spirits Competition.
