Product description
An Dúlamán Gin is the product of Irish company Sliab Liag Distillers, the first distiller based in County Donegal for 175 years.
The company was founded in 2014 by James and Moira Doherty, and currently has two distilleries – An Dúlamán Gin Distillery and Ardara Whiskey Distillery. An Dúlamán is a completely unique gin, with six traditional botanicals – juniper berries, lemon and orange peel, angelica root, coriander seed and cassia bark – and five types of seaweed. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find their Polish names, so we’ve provided the original spellings in brackets (sweet kombu, dulse, pepper dulse, dillisk, and carrageen moss). An Dúlamán Santa Ana is the first Irish gin to be offered at 100 British Proof (57% abv). It is distilled in small batches in a 500-litre copper still and aged in Rioja wine barrels. Its name refers to a Spanish Armada ship that ran aground off the coast of Donegal in 1588. The ship was captained by Don Alonso de Leyva, a Rioja nobleman. In 2020, An Dúlamán Santa Ana won a silver medal at the World Gin Awards.
An Dúlamán Santa Ana combines the breath of the ocean with juniper, red berries, orange peel and notes of black pepper and anise; there are also traces of umami. We recommend serving it with premium tonic and a slice of orange or with Campari.
