Product description
The history of the Punta Cana Club brand dates back to the 19th century, when a man named Oliver Juanillo founded a sugar cane and tobacco plantation in Cuba.
Shortly afterwards, a rum distillery was also launched, which operated until 1959, i.e. until the end of the Cuban Revolution. The founders of the Oliver & Oliver distillery, as the distillery was called, were forced to emigrate. Eventually, they settled in the Dominican Republic, where they found excellent conditions to continue their distilling business. The new Oliver & Oliver distillery produces a wide range of rums, using traditional copper stills and pure sugar cane syrup. Punta Cana Club Esplendido rum is a drink matured in American bourbon oak barrels, but the final maturation period (the so-called wood finish) takes place in French oak barrels from the François Frères cooperage in France. The full maturation period of Punta Cana Club Esplendido rum is 12 years.
