Product description
Gin Buss Nº 509 is the creation of Serge Buss, founder and owner of Bar Bounce, the first “Gin & Tonic” bar in Belgium.
The brand name supposedly comes from the license number for the production and sale of alcohol. The license document was supposed to include the inscription "BUSS Nº 509". Serge comes from a family with rich culinary traditions, his grandfather was a chef to the Belgian royal family, and his father owned a popular restaurant chain; he opened his first restaurant when he was just 20. The Buss Nº 509 brand debuted in 2013 with the Raspberry Gin version, the first in the "Author Collection", which was soon joined by gins: Pink Grapefruit, Belgian Apple, Elderflower and Persian Peach. Buss Nº 509 is best known for its excellent "fruity" gins, but we also recommend its more traditional versions. The Master Cut presented here is the work of a master distiller, not limited by the recommendations of the owners. The core of its formula is juniper berries, lavender, jasmine, white pepper, cinnamon, licorice, angelica and orris roots, vanilla, coriander seeds, fresh lemons, tangerines and oranges. Master Cut debuted in 2016 and won a gold medal at the Concours Mondial in Brussels two years later. Rebel Cut, Master Cut and Midi Cut, form the Choice Cut Collection. Buss Nº 509 gins are distilled in the Zuidam distillery.
Buss Nº 509 Rebel Cut is a perfectly balanced gin – oranges, grapefruits, pine needles, a bit of cardamom and coriander and a delicate note of licorice. The producer recommends serving it with a classic Indian tonic, with the addition of lime zest and lemongrass.
