- The Lambay brand is a collaboration between Ciril Camus, fifth generation of Maison Camus, French family famous for their cognac and Alexander Baring, the seventh Baron Revelstoke.
Product description
Lambay whiskey is the result of collaboration between Ciril Camus, representative of the fifth generation of the Cognac dynasty, and Alexander Baring, the seventh Baron Revelstoke.
The brand is named after a tiny island in the Irish Sea, owned by the Baring family since 1904, and debuted in 2018 with Small Batch Blend and Single Malt editions. The blended malt presented here joined the range in July 2020. It was composed of three single malts (doubly and triple distilled) originally aged in American oak bourbon barrels. After the basic maturation, the whiskey was finished in cognac barrels, then diluted to 43% abv with water from the local Holy Trinity Well (Lambay Trinity Well).
Nose: malty-floral, garden flowers and herbs, grapes, figs, bananas, sweet breakfast cereals, lemon peel, cinnamon, cloves and a bit of oak.
Taste: sweet breakfast cereals, vanilla, coconut flakes, multi-berry jam, nutmeg, a hint of cardamom and a distant breath of sea breeze.
Finish: quite long, with notes of vanilla, breakfast cereal, apples, cinnamon, white pepper and a pinch of salt.
