The Macallan 15 Year Old Double Cask / 43%/ 0.7l

The Macallan 15 Year Old Double Cask is a perfectly balanced single malt whisky, matured for a full 15 years in carefully prepared American and European oak casks, previously seasoned with Oloroso sherry. The casks are transported to Spain, where they are hand-assembled and filled with Spanish Oloroso sherry to infuse the wood with its characteristic notes. After a period of seasoning, they are transported to The Macallan distillery in Speyside, where they are hand-assembled and filled with fresh distillate. For a further 15 years, the whisky matures quietly, gradually developing a depth of flavour. After this time, Whisky Makers precisely blend the spirits from both types of oak casks, achieving a harmonious composition - distinguished by full flavour, subtle sweetness and elegant structure, which emphasises the artistry of traditional craftsmanship.

Color : dark gold

Aroma : lots of dried fruit, figs, dates, raisins, orange jam, baked apples and pears, honey, cocoa, potpourri notes and a fading trace of sulfur

Palate: well-balanced, dark chocolate, caramel, raisins, orange peel, plums, hazelnuts, cinnamon, candied ginger, nutmeg, sherry and oak

Finish: medium long, with notes of dark berries, ginger, cinnamon, dark chocolate, toffee, sherry and oak
