Product description
Rare Auld (meaning "Old and Unique") is an extremely prestigious series from Duncan Taylor Ltd. comprising single malt and single grain whiskies released in their natural form in single cask versions.
These unique spirits come from distilleries scattered throughout Scotland and differ, sometimes significantly, from the official editions, showing the full spectrum of the producer's potential. The Strathisla presented here, distilled in March 1967, a dozen or so months after the installation of the second pair of stills, spent over four decades in barrel no. 1892. Its contents in August 2008 translated into 127 bottles of cask strength whisky (47.9% abv). Duncan Taylor Ltd. was established in 1938, and since 2002 it has been owned by Euan Shand.
