Product description
Ben Nevis, founded in 1825, is a medium-sized distillery capable of producing around 2 million litres of distillate per year.
In 1989, the plant, which had been closed for three years, was purchased by Nikka Distilling Company and the following year it resumed distilling. Ben Nevis single malt is a key component of Nikka blends, which “consume” over half of the distillery’s production, so its supply is quite limited. This 18-year-old edition in Douglas Laing’s Old Particular series was distilled in November 2001 and aged in a refill hogshead cask (DL 13784). Bottled in December 2019 at 48.4% abv and without chill filtration, in an edition limited to 273 bottles.
