Product description
The Cù Bòcan brand was introduced in October 2013 by Tomatin Distillery as a permanent edition to the distillery product range.
The whisky earned very good reviews and over time the company added several new expressions. Cù Bòcan is a lightly peated expression of Tomatin single malt produced from barley malted to specification of 15 ppm. Its name derives from a legendary hellhound that has stalked residents of the village of Tomatin for Centuries. Cù Bòcan Signature, an entry level expression, is a non-age-statement whisky, vatting of ex-bourbon barrels, ex-Oloroso sherry casks and American oak virgin oak casks, bottled without chill-filtration at 46% abv.
Nose: sweet and mildly smoky, lemons, limes, grapefruits, bunch of fresh herbs, vanilla, hints of ginger, notes of aniseed and a touch of oak.
Palate: smooth, sweet cereals, coconut flakes, honey roasted almonds, apple pie sprinkled with cinnamon, cloves, aniseed and distant whiff of smoke.
Finish: medium long, with notes of sweet cereals, milk chocolate, cinnamon, cloves and wisps of peat smoke.
