Product description
Woodford Reserve Double Oaked was introduced in the late 2011 as the first permanent addition to the distillery core range.
Standard Woodford is a mixture of bourbons distilled in pot still and in column still (in Old Forested Distillery) and aged in heavily charred oak barrels. Double Oaked starts as such but later undergoes original finishing process, after being transferred into twice toasted and lightly charred barrels for additional 9 to 12 months. According to Chris Morris, Woodford Reserve Master Distiller, “the double barreling of mature Woodford Reserve in such unique barrels allows the spirit to extract an additional amount of soft, sweet oak character”. Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is bottled with different alcohol content for the US (45.2%) and European (43.2%) markets.
