Product description
Dujardin is a German brandy produced by M. Melcher GmbH based in Krefeld.
The company was founded in 1806 and for over a hundred years it was exclusively engaged in the import and export of various goods, which marked its strong presence in the American and Asian markets. After the First World War, it also started producing cognac. The Treaty of Versailles, signed after the war, banned the use of the term "cognac" for spirits originating outside the Cognac region. As a result, the term "Weinbrand" began to be used in Germany, which in 1923 became an official category. Dujardin is distilled from French wines from the Charente region and aged in Limousin oak barrels for many years.
