Product description
A champagne house founded in 1743 by Claude Moet, a wine merchant and wine enthusiast. Thanks to his sales talent, the initially small estate in Epernay quickly became known in aristocratic circles, and in 1748 it reached the court of the French king, Louis XV. It became the favorite champagne of Madame de Pompadour, and later conquered Europe, making its home in the courts of Great Britain, Germany, and Holland, among others. In 1814, Jean-Remy Moet was awarded the Cross of the Officer of the Legion of Honor by Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, and Napoleon himself visited this champagne house at least three times.
Currently, Moet & Chandon is known all over the world, being a companion of many political and cultural events. Its portfolio includes a wide range of products for everyday as well as special occasions. The brand is owned by LVMH and has the largest vineyards in Champagne.
Marc de Champagne Moet & Chandon / 40% / 0.7l
Very good quality brandy, distilled from grape pomace previously used to produce Moet & Chandon champagne. After distillation, it matures for several years in oak barrels, gaining character and elegance. The equivalent of Italian grappa. On the nose it is very lively and intense, full of aromas of tropical fruits, with a delicate note of hazelnuts and vanilla. On the palate, despite the intensity, it is very smooth, gracefully developing the flavors of ripe apricots with a floral note. The finish is long, with a delicate accent of almonds.
It tastes best served at a temperature of 10-12 degrees. Perfect as a digestif after a meal, but also works well with desserts with a lot of fruit. Bottled at 40% ABV, so despite its character it is very delicate.
