The Centenario 20 Year Old Fundacion rum comes from Costa Rica where it is produced. Sugar cane plantations in Costa Rica are mainly intended for sugar production.
The molasses from which Centenario rums are produced is fermented and then distilled twice: the first distillation takes place in columns – where a 'pure' distillate is created – before blending there is a second distillation, this time in an alembic to obtain a stronger, high-calorie and intensely (deeply) aromatic end product.
Maturation using the solera system is one of the most important processes that determine its taste: American white oak barrels used for whiskey and bourbon are particularly chosen.
This unique approach gives Centenario rums their incomparable character, tinged with smoothness, lightness and balance. Centenario 20 Year Old Fundacion is a mahogany-colored rum with chocolate highlights.
Serve neat or with ice.
