- The Duke Wanderlust Munich Dry is the award winning gin from Munich located The Duke Destillerie (founded 2008).
Product description
The Duke Wanderlust Munich Dry gin is another offering from The Duke Distillerie based in Munich (established in 2008).
The brand name refers to Henry the Lion of the Guelph dynasty, Duke of Bavaria and founder of Munich in 1158, and the creators of the gin are two distillers, Maximilian Schauerte and Daniel Schönecker. In the formula of the Wanderlust Munich Dry presented here, alongside the traditionally used juniper berries, coriander and bitter oranges, we find botanicals from the forests of the Bavarian Alpine foothills, such as edelweiss, cornflower, poppy, arnica, roses and raspberries. The recipe is complemented by cocoa beans and local hops and malt. The ingredients are macerated, then mixed with the base alcohol and distilled in a copper alembic.
The Duke Wanderlust Munich Dry Gin caresses the nostrils with aromas of juniper, raspberries and citrus with noticeable notes of coriander, bitter orange and lavender. In taste, it surprises with a delicate floral sweetness and notes of honey, bitter orange jam, cocoa and hops. It tastes best with Thomas Henry and Fever Tree tonics.
