Product description
Gin Sul is a German dry gin with Portuguese roots. Its creator is Stephan Garbe, a great lover of both Portugal and gin.
Stefan experimented with over thirty botanical ingredients, but after dozens of attempts he decided to reduce their number by over half. We do not know all the ingredients of the final formula, we know that the list includes juniper berries, coriander, fresh lemons (brought by courier from Portugal once a week), rosemary, pepper, allspice, lavender, cinnamon and sagebrush. Most of the botanical ingredients are subjected to a short maceration in an alembic, which is heated very slowly. A special basket filled with lemon peel, rose petals and lavender is placed in the lower part of the alembic, whose aromas and flavours absorb the alcohol vapours. The collected spirit is diluted with water from Lüneburg Heath to the appropriate strength.
Gin Sul hits with strong lemon notes, we also find juniper, pine needles, black pepper and rosemary, as well as light fruity tones (pears and pineapples), traces of lavender and lemongrass. Gin Sul tastes best with Feever Tree Indian Tonic.
