Product description
Willowbank Distillery was an investment by the Baker family in 1974. The distillery was based in Dunedin, on New Zealand's South Island.
In 1981, it was taken over by the Canadian concern Seagram, which replaced the stills with steel ones for copper ones, which significantly improved the quality of the whisky produced there. In 1997, the Canadians ended their adventure with New Zealand whisky, the distillery was sold to the beer producer Foster, who soon removed the distilling equipment from there and put the whisky stocks up for auction. The main buyer was the New Zealand Malt Whisky Company, which soon began selling them under the name Milford single malt.
