Armorik single malt is a product of the Warengehem distillery based in Lannion, Brittany. It was founded in the early 20th century by Leon Warengehem, but the first attempts at whisky production took place in the late 1980s.
A few years later, Armorik Single Malt debuted. Currently, the facility, equipped with one pair of stills, produces 120,000 liters of distillate per year using only locally grown barley. The Armorik Sherry Cask presented here joined the offer in 2017, it is a whisky composed of distillates finished in Oloroso sherry casks for at least a year and distillates aged in fresh Oloroso sherry casks from the José y Miguel Martin bodega.
Aroma : elegant, malty and fruity, rose petals, ripe apples, oranges, bananas, vanilla, honey, caramel, milk chocolate and a trace of mint.
Taste : pleasantly balanced, barley malt, caramel, honey, vanilla, milk chocolate, orange peel, raisins, pepper, allspice, licorice and a hint of hay.
Finish: fairly long, malty, with notes of cocoa, caramel, pepper and sherry-soaked oak.
