Product description
The Samaroli brand is synonymous with top-class whisky for most of us. Silvano Samaroli began his career in the whisky market in 1968 and headed the company for the next four decades.
In 2008, he left the management of the company in the hands of Antonio Bleve, with whose family he had worked for many years, but he himself played an active role until his death in February 2017. Ferry to Islay is one of the few blended malt whiskies in the company's range. The 2016 edition presented here is the work of Antonio Bleve, who based the whisky's formula on Laphroaig and Bunnahabhain malts, supplemented by "other whiskies from distilleries currently operating on the Isle of Islay". 340 700ml bottles and 120 750ml bottles were filled.
Producer's note: a whisky with a strong "spine", which sweetness gives shape and smoke structure. Initially, our nose detects marine and mineral notes and a trace of musk, eventually replaced by vanilla, mint and fresh fruit. In the palette, expressive and even slightly sharp notes of balsamic vinaigrette, iodine and peat smoke.
