Product description
Gin Crespo is the creation of Gustavo Crespo, who discovered his passion for distilling at the age of 19 while working in his grandfather's distillery in Uzhupud, a small settlement located in the Ecuadorian Andes.
His gin is produced in small batches, no more than 1,000 bottles at a time, using triple-distilled sugar cane spirit, local mountain water and 11 botanicals sourced from four continents. Juniper berries are sourced from Bulgaria, orange and lemon peel and angelica root from the United States, cardamom from Guatemala, cinnamon from India, licorice from Uzbekistan, fennel seed from India, cassia bark from Indonesia, orris root from Morocco and coriander seed from Egypt. In 2016, Crespo Gin won a double gold medal at the World Spirit Competition in San Francisco and a silver medal at the Wine & Spirits Competition in New York. It is the first gin from South America to receive such a prestigious distinction.
Crespo is a classic London Dry gin with aromas of juniper and citrus "spiced" with an oriental note of cardamom. The taste is dominated by citrus, supported by juniper, licorice and cardamom. Crespo goes great with classic Indian Tonics, such as 1724 or Fever Tree.
