Product description
Matsui Shuzo Distillery, built in 1910, is located in Tottori Prefecture in southwestern Honshu.
It is part of Matsui Breweries, a producer of sake and shōchu. The company also offers Kurayoshi malt whisky and Tottori grain whisky. The Kurayoshi Pure Malt Sherry Cask, presented here, debuted in Japan in the spring of 2016. Little is known about its formula, except that it contains malt whisky from “all over Scotland” blended with local whisky (including single malt). After the blending process is complete, the drink is diluted with local, extremely pure water, naturally filtered through volcanic rock. In 2017, the company installed a pair of small stills and began distilling its own whisky.
