An exquisite rum from Guatemala, matured for 30 years in the solera system. The most elaborate work of art in the Zacapa range, it spent long years in casks in the highlands of Quetzaltenango.
The rum spent its final years of maturation in French oak casks made from wood acquired from Le Bois de Roy forest, protected by a special royal edict as early as 13th century. The rum has a very special dark amber colour with hints of red and mahogany.
Nose: Complex, elegant, beautifully balanced. Notes of vanilla, chocolate, dried fruits, wood, nutmeg, caramelised bananas, pineapples and toasted almonds.
Palate: Intensive chocolate, toasted cocoa, almonds.
Finish: Delicate, sweet. Full of exotic notes. Remarkably smooth.
