Product description
Braunstein Destilleri, based in Køge, near Copenhagen, is the producer of Isfjord Arctic single malt whisky. The first Danish micro-distillery was founded in 2005 by brothers Michael and Claus Braunstein, and began producing whisky two years later.
The plant uses icebergs that have broken off from the Greenland ice caps and are drifting across the sea as a water source. Such water could have remained in a solid state for up to 180,000 years, is extremely soft and free from any impurities. Isfjord Arctic Single Malt No. 2 is distilled from barley malt with a low concentration of phenol compounds and aged in fresh bourbon barrels. Bottled at 42% alcohol, glacier water is used for dilution.
