Product description
Oxley Gin debuted in 2009 and was the first gin produced using vacuum distillation (distillation under reduced pressure).
The brand is owned by Bacardi Ltd, and is produced at the Thames Distillery in London. It took eight years to develop the formula, and the final one is number 38. After a 15-hour maceration of 14 botanical ingredients – juniper, lemons, grapefruits, oranges, spirea, vanilla, anise, orris and licorice roots, grains of paradise, cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg and coriander – it is distilled in a vacuum column at a temperature of -5ºC. Distillation in such conditions guarantees full extraction of flavors and aromas without exposing the botanicals to high temperatures, and also eliminates the formation of fore- and under-tails. Oxley is produced in small batches, usually five days a week, which translates into 600-700 bottles of gin.
Oxley is an incredibly elegant gin with a classic profile – juniper, citrus and floral tones beautifully working with slightly relegated spices, balanced to some extent by vanilla sweetness. It is our number 1 candidate for the “perfect Martini”, and also tastes great with Fever Tree tonics.
