Product description
The Beyers, a family with a long winemaking tradition, have been cultivating vines in Eguisheim, in the centre of Alsace, since 1580. In 1867 Emile Beyer founded the Maison de Vin d'Alsace winery, which is currently run by Léon Beyer and his son Marc. It offers a full range of Alsatian wines, mainly Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris, many of which are served in prestigious restaurants in France and other European countries, including Michelin 3-star restaurants. In addition to grapes from its own crop, the company also buys from other local, renowned producers. Currently, the vineyard area around Eguisheim is around 300 hectares, the largest in the whole of Alsace. It is divided between individual winemakers and a local cooperative. Maison de Vin d'Alsace has almost 20 hectares of vineyards there.
Léon Beyer Riesling 2016 is a wine from the group of Alsatian classics.
Elegant and delicately fruity, it offers a beautifully balanced bouquet – violets, licorice, peaches, grapefruits, lemon tart and orange peel adorned with floral and mineral notes.
It goes perfectly with fish and seafood dishes served at 10ºC. Production of the 2016 vintage amounted to 110,000 bottles.
