Product description
The history of the Pampero brand begins in Caracas in 1938. Two friends – Alejandro Hernandez and Luis Toro – decided to start producing rum.
They had little experience in the field, but they were determined to experiment with new solutions. They were the first in Venezuela to use oak barrels to age their spirits, creating the first añejo, or aged rum, in the country's history. The result was a spirit so smooth, with such depth of flavor, that it led to changes in local rum laws. Pampero rums are made with fresh cane molasses and are triple distilled in three different types of stills—column, kettle, and pot still.
Pampero Blanco is a white rum, but the lack of color is due to filtration, not the fact that the rum was not matured in oak barrels. Not at all. Venezuelan law requires that the rum be matured for at least two years. This makes Pampero Blanco a more mellow and rounded drink than most unaged white rums available on the market. Excellent in cocktails, with cola or with a little lime and ice.
