Nevis Dew Special Reserve Blended Scotch Whiskey / 40% / 0.7l

Nevis Dew is a blended whisky from the portfolio of Ben Nevis Distillery Company, owned by the Japanese company Nikka Distilling Co.

The blend formula is of course built around the single malt Ben Nevis, we are not sure where the grain whisky used in the blend comes from. Ben Nevis Distillery produces around 2 million liters of distillate per year, most of which is sent to Japan where, after appropriate maturation, it goes into blends put together by Nikka. The distillery also offers blended malt Glencoe and blended whisky Nevis Dew, in which the single malt Ben Nevis plays the main role. The Nevis Dew Special Reserve presented here is the standard version of this blend.

Nose: honeyed cereal, toffee, vanilla, brown sugar, lemon peel, green apples, roasted peanuts, a pinch of dried herbs and a fleeting trace of smoke.

Palate: sweet cereals, vanilla, caramel, baked apples, mirabelle plums, roasted peanuts, notes of hay and oak.

Finish: medium long, with notes of cereal, vanilla, sugared nuts, a pinch of pepper and oak.
