Product description
The Orphan Barrel Whisky Project, a collection of different whiskeys “miraculously found” in the company warehouses, was introduced in the late 2013.
The first two expressions, both Kentucky Bourbons, were released in the early 2014 – Old Blowhard 26 years old and six years younger Barterhouse. Whoop & Holler, the oldest “Orphan” to date, joined the pack three years later. Diageo revealed that the whisky was distilled from mash of 84% corn, 8% rye and 8% of malted barley in George Dickel’s Distillery in Tullahoma, Tennessee, underwent the charcoal mellowing process and was aged for 28 years in American oak barrels. The question why has it been labeled American Whisky not Tennessee Whisky remains unanswered.
Nose: sweet with delicate oakiness, grilled corn, vanilla, toffee, marzipan, raisins, bananas, cloves and hints of beeswax.
